€180,000 Investment in Castlefinn Partnership Initiative
Dinny McGinley TD, Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has warmly welcomed the confirmation he has received from Phil Hogan TD, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, that more than €180,000 is to be sanctioned for Castlefinn Partnership Initiative Limited.
This funding is being allocated under the Encouragement of Tourism Activities measure of the Rural Development Programme (2007 – 2013) and will be used to develop a walled garden in Castlefinn, County Donegal.
Minister McGinley commented: “What is planned for Castlefinn is a large walled garden which will be identical to a garden that is to be built in the grounds of the White House by Diarmuid Gavin. This garden will add to the facilities that are already available at Castlefinn and will add significantly to the attraction of the location, for local residents and visitors alike.
“I would like to thank the Minister for the Environment for recognising the importance of this planned development and congratulate the Castlefinn Partnership for their vision and commitment to this project. I would encourage the board of the Donegal Local Development Company to give their final approval to this project so that funding can flow and work commence as soon as possible.”
