New Book: A new book titled The Power to Connect has been launched by the Glenties author, Charles Shovlin. This is the fourth book by the author, who has strong ties with Gaoth Dobhair. His wife, Grace, is a daughter of Mrs. Maggie and the late Hugh Coyle, Lunniaghbeg, Derrybeg. He is one of the founding pioneers of the Tai Chi in Ireland and is also a renowned healer and people travel from all over the county and beyond to his healing centre in Kilraine, Glenties. His new book 'The Power to Connect' is available in Donegal bookshops and on line.

Pearsa Ghaoth Dobhair: The well known local personality, Máire Rua Gallagher, Magheralosk, Bunbeg, will be honoured this weekend when she will be conferred with 'Pearsa Ghaoth Dobhair'. The event will be held at a gala dinner dance which will take place in Ostán Ghaoth Dobhair this Sunday night. The three course dinner will be served at 8pm and admission fee is 27 euro. Admission to dance is 15 euro. Music will be supplied by Séamus McGee and his band and during the course of the night he will sing a newly written song about Máire Rua. The song in Irish was pinned by Kitty McGee, Co. Meath and Gaoth Dobhair and edited by An Dr. Dónall Ó Baoill.

Month's Mind Mass: The month's mind mass for the late Catherine Gallagher, Glassagh will be celebrated in the Church of St. Colmcille, Cnoc Fola this Friday (7th August) at 7pm.

Irish Wheelchair Association: The annual church gate collection in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association was taken up in the parish. The total sum raised amounts to 2,062.63 euro. The organisers wish to thank everyone who contributed so generously. They would also like to convey their gratitude to all the collectors who helped with the collection.
Golden Wedding Anniversary: Congratulations to Gaoth Dobhair couple, Mickey and Mary Friel, Lunniagh, Derrybeg who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at the weekend. They were married in Saint Bartholomew Church in Castlemilk, Glasgow on July 30th, 1959. The happy couple, their family and relatives attended a Jubilee Mass which was celebrated by Fr. Michael Sweeney, P.P., in St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg on Saturday evening and afterwards they celebrated the event in Teach Phete in Derrybeg. Mickey and Mary are wished many more happy years together.

Collection: The annual collection in aid of the Donegal Association of Parents and Friends of People with Intellectual Disabilities will be taken up outside all the churches in the parish this weekend, (Saturday and Sunday). Your generosity will be very deeply appreciated.

Cnoc Fola Bingo: At last Sunday night monster bingo held in Ionad Pobail Chnoc Fola the main prizewinners were - 200 euro each: Frances Gallagher, Machaire Rabhartaigh, and Mary Duffy, Meenaniller.
