The Principal of Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal in Letterkenny has announced she is to retire.
Roisin Ui Fhearraigh, who was the school's first lay principal, told staff last week that she is to retire from the position.

She is the latest Letterkenny school principal to retire in recent years.

Chris Darby took over as the first lay principal of St. Eunan's College from Fr. Michael Carney who retired at the end of last year.

Paraig Cannon became the new principal of Scoil Colmcille in 2007. Mrs Ui Fhearraigh's husband, Plunkett, retired from his position as principal of St. Mary's National School in Drumkeen last year.
